With over ten years
experience in marine mammal observation and
passive acoustic monitoring for the energy
industries, Jane has worked as a consultant
in the UK, Norwegian, Australian waters and
the Mediterranean sea.
With a degree in Marine
Science, a postgraduate qualification in
Oceanography and a degree in ethics Jane is
qualified to undertake a number a research
roles and has worked in conjunction with oil
companies, environmental companies and
undertaken scientific research projects such
as the recent Scans II European project,
where she oversaw the PAM operation for the
Northern North Sea, and worked on the
development trials of the PAMGUARD acoustic
monitoring
software.
Based on the West Coast
of Scotland she also runs a small commercial
diving company as well as undertaking
consultancy work such as scientific dive
supervision and seabed surveys. A qualified RYA Offshore powerboat skipper Jane is also
the deputy Coxswain on the local all weather
lifeboat.
